It's so nostalgic and sad. I saw this last night and i really do think its a good movie 11/10. Doctor sueño full movie. Doctor sueño movie poster. Doctor sueño movie trailer. When Danny was possessed and about to axe Abra, the camera work is almost identical to when Jack was axing down the bathroom door in The Shining. Im ashamed to say that I didnt see this while it was out in theaters.

He may have peaked in E.T., but I've always thought Henry Thomas to an underrated actor, and this short but chilling scene only confirms that, I think. Now of course he's no Nicholson, but that's sort of the point here. He's not playing Jack Nicholson. He's playing Jack Torrance! And what worse and yet also most appropriate fate than to spend all eternity as bartender of the gold room? In a way it reaffirms what most fans have always felt about Nicholson and Kubrick's take on the character. That Jack was a bastard long before the Torrance's ever came to the Overlook. He had no redeeming features to speak of, as in the novel. He was just a weak, angry, selfish drunk who resented his family, and the hotel took full advantage of that, turning him into a kind of puppet. It's also a really tragic moment because Dan realizes that try as might, his father is beyond saving. He's become a part of the Overlook now. But the animosity is still there. Toxic as ever. But Dan's not the same man his father was. He may struggle with the same addiction as his father, but he doesn't have to suffer the same fate. He's better than that. One day at a time.

I hope they're as faithful to the book as a film always; different medium, I know. But, if they keep the book ending then the almost 40 year wait will be totally worth it. BTW. Read both books; rewatch The Shining, then see Doctor Sleep. The flying part is one of the most beautiful secuences I've ever seen in cinema. Doctor sueño movie free.
